Rasmussen College Blaine Campus Adds Associate Nursing Degree Option
Option to To Meet Increasing Demand for Highly-Trained Nurses
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (October 23, 2013) – In an effort to help meet the increasing demand for nurses in Minnesota, Rasmussen College has added the Professional Nursing (RN) Associate’s degree program at their Blaine campus. The College also launched the Mobility Bridge Transfer option allowing LPNs to transfer in credits and quickly progress to an Associate’s Degree in Nursing. Both options are available in Blaine starting with the January 2014 semester. Qualified candidates can enroll immediately as there is no waiting list for the Rasmussen Nursing program at the Blaine campus.
“The expansion of the nursing degree program is an example of Rasmussen College’s commitment to providing students with the proper foundation to enter and thrive in the workplace,” said Patty Sagert, Rasmussen College Campus Director, Blaine. “Adding the Associate’s degree and Mobility Transfer Option at the Blaine campus will allow Rasmussen College to enhance and educate current LPN nurses and students seeking a nursing career to meet the increasing complexity of care needs in Minnesota.”
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of registered nurses needed in Minnesota is expected to grow 22 percent by 2020, with an estimated 2,290 job openings for registered nurses annually.
Professional Nursing Associate’s Degree
Rasmussen’s Professional Nursing Associate's degree is the path to a registered nursing career. With curriculum that includes NCLEX prep work throughout all degree courses, students leave the degree program prepared to pass the NCLEX-RN exam and become employed as a registered nurse.
Mobility Bridge Entrance Option: From LPN to RN
Developed for current LPNs, the Professional Nursing Associate’s Mobility Bridge Transfer Option provides a pathway to obtain an RN associate’s degree in as little as 12 to 18 months. LPN students can transfer credits from previous academic and work experience, allowing them to more efficiently advance from one degree to the next.
Students interested in applying are encouraged to attend a nursing information session at the Blaine campus or visit http://www.rasmussen.edu/nursing-session-form/.
