Rasmussen College Launches New Professional Nursing Mobility Program in Ocala, Fla.
The Rasmussen College Ocala Campus Begins Enrolling for their First-Ever Professional Nursing Mobility Program, Enabling Licensed Practical Nurses to Become Registered Nurses In As Little As 9 Months
Ocala, Fla. (Oct. 10, 2011) – As the demand for registered nurses in Florida continues to grow, the Rasmussen College Ocala, FL college campus is now enrolling students for its first-ever professional nursing mobility program. The LPN to RN bridge program enables licensed practical nurses to become registered nurses in as little as nine months.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics anticipates that more than 580,000 new jobs for registered nurses will be created through 2018 nationally, and there are more than 21,000 job postings for registered nurses in Florida over the past six months on Career Builder alone.
“Due to the evolving demands of the nursing profession, it is crucial that we offer respected and relevant degree options for graduates to be relevant in the healthcare industry. With our new Professional Nursing Mobility program, we offer an option for LPNs to advance their nursing career and become an RN in less than a year,” Rasmussen College Ocala School of Nursing Dean Karen Guty said.
The new professional nursing mobility program is approved by the Florida State Board of Nursing and will allow students to earn an associate’s degree and sit for the NCLEX-RN exam, the national licensure examination for registered nurses. Upon successful completion of the exam, students will then become registered nurses.
In addition to the Mobility program, the School of Nursing at Rasmussen College offers an associate’s degree in professional nursing. The Rasmussen College School of Nursing also offers an RN-BSN online degree, which facilitates working registered nurses who are interested in a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
The Rasmussen College Ocala campus is now enrolling for its first class of professional nursing Mobility students; classes will begin January 3, 2012.
Any licensed practical nurse who is interested in enrolling for the program should call the Ocala college campus at (352) 629-1941 or visit the campus at 4755 SW 46th Court.
