Rasmussen College Offers New Graphic Design Degree Programs In Fields Of Fastest Growth
Multiple Degree Options Advance Necessary Skills, Prepare Students for Employment
MINNEAPOLIS (November 7, 2013) – Rasmussen College today announced a new Graphic Design degree program, available on campus and online through its 24 U.S campuses. Students can now earn diploma, Associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Graphic Design, with specializations in animation and motion graphics or web and interactive design. The multi-degree program helps students keep pace with the specialized career demands of the field and prepares them to enter the employment market. Enrollment in the Graphic Design program is open immediately, with classes beginning January 2014.
The curriculum in the Graphic Design degree program has been enhanced to prepare students for the areas of greatest job growth, specifically focusing on up-to-date skills in mobile and interactive design and user experience. Graphic Design careers are expected to grow 13 percent over the next 10 years while computer system design will see more than 61 percent growth. Rasmussen College students can complete their degrees and quickly enter the workforce, earning a diploma in just 18 months, an Associate’s degree in 21 months and a Bachelor’s degree in as little as 3 years.
To help students gain a competitive edge in a growing and demanding marketplace, the Graphic Design program will also offer students the opportunity to graduate with up to three design software certifications paid for by Rasmussen College. Students can choose certifications in programs including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and Dreamweaver. Degree requirements also include two portfolio courses to ensure graduates enter the workforce with a comprehensive collection of work showcasing their skills.
“The enhancements to our School of Design demonstrate Rasmussen College’s commitment to preparing students to thrive in today’s workplace. We already have 85 percent of our graduates employed in their field of study or continuing their education. With these changes, students will be even more ready to enter the job market with the creative and technical skills employers are seeking today,” said Jennifer Ayotte, School of Design dean, Rasmussen College. “We are excited to offer this comprehensive degree program to current and prospective students alike, ensuring they acquire the highest design skills and the ability to demonstrate their career readiness upon graduation.”
