MINNEAPOLIS, (January 4, 2011) – Rasmussen College is pleased to announce Heather Zink, BS, MT (ASCP), online instructor for the Rasmussen College School of Allied Health, will present at the 13th annual Ohio Educational Technology Conference: Leading Through Innovation, the state’s premiere professional development event. Her proposal, “Connecting with e-Learners Through Podcasting,” a tutorial on using podcasting in online learning, was chosen to be presented on Monday, Jan. 31, 2011 from 8:00 – 8:45 a.m.
Presented at the Ohio Technology Conference at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio, Zink’s session will review strategies for establishing a connectedness to online course material through podcasting and instruct participants on how to develop an outline for a potential podcast. This dynamic session will arm participants with free resources, enthusiasm, and confidence to use podcasting as a powerful communication tool for busy 21st century learners.
“At Rasmussen College, we pride ourselves in offering the highest quality education through instruction from industry veterans who are experts in their fields. Heather Zink embodies this level of professionalism and consistently offers unique learning opportunities for both students and the public,” Regional Academic Dean of Rasmussen College Online Ann Morgan said. “We are proud to congratulate Heather on having her proposal selected for one of the largest educational technology conferences in the nation.”
Prior to joining the online team at Rasmussen College in Bloomington, Minn., Zink worked in the clinical laboratory as a medical technologist for more than seven years. Initially a Medical Lab Technician Program Coordinator, her efforts have recently focused on fully online instruction of the Medical Terminology course for Rasmussen College. Zink received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Medical Technology from Ohio Northern University and is currently working to earn her Master’s degree in Health Administration from St. Joseph’s University. Her article, “Connecting with e-Learners Through Podcasting,” was published in eLearn Magazine in July 2010.
