Rasmussen College to Present All-Star Practices for the Verizon WNBA All-Star 2018
Rasmussen College president to share her thoughts between practices as part of the All-Star Inspiring Women Talk
Minneapolis (Jul. 26, 2018)—Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today announced plans to present the practices and related events for Verizon WNBA All-Star 2018 Friday, July 27 in Minneapolis. Around 5,000 fans are expected to attend the three-hour event at Target Center where they will have the opportunity to view two practices and hear from distinguished speakers, including Rasmussen College president, Dr. Trenda Boyum-Breen, during the All-Star Inspiring Women Talk at 1:45 PM CT following the first practice. Attendees are also encouraged to participate in free Rasmussen College-sponsored activities on the concourse–including face painting, photo opportunities and giveaways.
“We are excited to present the pregame events for this year’s Verizon WNBA All-Star 2018,” said Dr. Boyum-Breen. “It is an honor to partner with such dynamic organizations, such as the WNBA and the four-time World Champion Minnesota Lynx– organizations that align with our mission of investing in individuals and inspiring communities to achieve their goals. We are also thrilled to have the opportunity to send hundreds of youth to the pregame practices and the All-Star Game–an experience they won’t soon forget.”
Partnership Aligns with College’s Mission to Inspire Women
The All-Star Inspiring Women Talk, presented between practices, will be an impactful conversation on the importance of supporting women and the WNBA. Rasmussen College has primarily educated women since it first opened in 1900. The College believes in the power of strong communities and knows the health and strength of our relationships depends on the critical support and guidance offered by organizations that work to inspire individuals and change lives.
This year, Rasmussen College will donate hundreds of tickets to both the pregame practices and the Verizon WNBA All-Star Game 2018. Donated tickets will go toward Minnesota Youth Athletic Services, the Jeremiah Program and the East Ridge Girls Basketball Association. To honor both their dedication to athletics and their support of individuals, the donations will help send youth to the game and inspire them to reach for their goals.
