Rasmussen College Moorhead Nursing Programs Earn ACEN Accreditation

Moorhead, Minn. (August 24, 2017)–Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today announced both its Professional Nursing Associate’s degree program and its Practical Nursing Diploma program in Moorhead, Minn. have earned programmatic accreditation from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). 1, 2 Accreditation signifies the Moorhead nursing program has met or exceeded standards and criteria for educational quality in nursing curriculum and preparation for nursing students to work successfully in the profession.

About the Rasmussen College ACEN-Accredited Nursing Programs
The Rasmussen College Professional Nursing Associate’s degree program offers a path to a career as a registered nurse (RN). It can be completed in as few as 18 months.3 Upon graduation, nursing students are prepared to take the NCLEX-RN licensure exam.
In the Rasmussen College Practical Nursing Diploma program, students gain real-world skills in a supportive environment that prepares them for a career as a licensed practical nurse (LPN). The diploma program can be completed in as few as 12 months.3 Once graduated, students are equipped to take the NCLEX-PN licensure exam.
In addition to its Professional and Practical Nursing programs, Rasmussen College offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program at its Moorhead and Fargo campuses for working RNs looking to advance their careers. The RN to BSN Entrance Option is for students who already have obtained their RN license through an Associate’s degree program (or Diploma and/or Certificate). It’s offered fully online and can be completed in as few as 12 months.3 The Rasmussen College BSN degree program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).4
“All of our nursing courses are taught by dedicated and experienced faculty members. Students are also exposed to simulation experiences in our state-of-the-art nursing lab and have access to our wonderful clinical partners throughout the Moorhead area,” said Shantelle Smith, nursing dean, Rasmussen College—Moorhead. “With four start dates per year, students can start their nursing career sooner and help fill the large demand. According to labor analytics firm Burning Glass, there were more than 1,300 job openings for RNs and 280 job openings for LPNs just in the Fargo-Moorhead area over the past year. Our graduates are prepared to fill these positions and care for our communities.”
