Dr. Vest to oversee College's nursing programs in Florida and Kansas
Tampa, Fla. (October 1, 2015)–Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college and Public Benefit Corporation, recently welcomed Dr. Georgia Vest as the new regional dean of nursing for its Southeast region. In this role, Vest will oversee the College’s nursing programs in Florida and Kansas, which include five School of Nursing locations in Florida and two in Kansas. Vest brings with her more than 15 years of experience in nursing education. Most recently, she served as associate director at the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) – the entity responsible for the specialized accreditation of nursing education programs across the country.
“We are excited and fortunate to have Dr. Georgia Vest’s experience and vast knowledge of the nursing education field within our School of Nursing,” said Dr. Joan Rich, vice president, School of Nursing at Rasmussen College. “Dr. Vest will be collaborating with the College’s experienced Southeast region nursing deans in order to continue to develop and improve our first-rate programs. We know Dr. Vest believes in the Rasmussen College mission to offer quality education across our campus locations that provide the caliber of nurses needed in the healthcare field today and tomorrow. We look forward to working with her to continue developing quality nursing programs that serve our communities.”
Prior to her role at ACEN, Dr. Vest served as director of Systematic Evaluation and Quality Improvement at Ivy Tech Community College where she helped maintain accreditation and regulatory standards within the School of Nursing. “I am thrilled to join the School of Nursing at Rasmussen College and work with such a high caliber of nursing education professionals across our Florida and Kansas campus locations,” said Vest. “During my time with ACEN, I got the opportunity to visit and evaluate several nursing schools across the country. Rasmussen College is a true leader in nursing education and knows what it takes to graduate quality nurses and positively impact the communities it serves by filling significant employment gaps in the nursing field. I’m committed to improving and growing our nursing locations in the College’s Southeast region so that we can continue to impact the healthcare field for years to come.”
