Dr. Joan Rich, Rasmussen College Vice President of Nursing, Appointed to National League for Nursing Foundation for Nursing Education’s New Advisory Council
Advisory Council created to join forces on the challenges facing the nursing industry
Minneapolis (January, 23 2017)— Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, is proud to announce that Dr. Joan Rich, Rasmussen College’s Vice President of Nursing, was recently appointed to the National League for Nursing (NLN) Foundation for Nursing Education’s new Advisory Council. Dr. Rich will join nine other leaders from across the country on the Advisory Council, and is one of only five members representing a higher education institution. The group of industry leaders will help provide insight into the future of nursing education and work to overcome challenges the industry faces, as well as build awareness of the NLN Foundation, its mission and the work it does to provide faculty scholarships annually.
The National League for Nursing, the longest-running nursing organization in the United States, is an association dedicated to nurse faculty and leaders in nursing education. The NLN has a 100+ year history of providing its members with professional development and networking opportunities, offering testing services and nursing research grants in nursing education as well as leading public policy initiatives.
In late 2017, after years of being a member, Rich was approached by NLN CEO, Dr. Beverly Malone, to sit on the Council. “It is a true honor to represent Rasmussen College and all nursing educators by being a member of the NLN Advisory Council,” said Rich. “My fellow Council members come from vast backgrounds with extensive experience; the sheer brain power in the room is humbling. Together, we can empower and offer innovative nursing education across the globe to help build the future of nursing education.”
