We spoke with the Land O’ Lakes/East Pasco campus director Daniel Stern to learn more about the important information every newcomer needs to know before stepping foot on campus.
What is the history of Rasmussen College and the Land O’ Lakes/East Pasco campus?
Rasmussen College is a regionally accredited private college and has been dedicated to changing lives and the communities it serves through its high-demand and flexible educational programs since 1900. The College is committed to academic innovation and providing the highest standard of education while empowering students to pursue a college education. The College offers Certificate and Diploma programs through Associate’s, Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs online and across its 24 campuses.
The Land O’ Lakes campus opened in 2010 and has been a tight-knit community dedicated to student success and employee well-being ever since. Just 12 miles from the New Port Richey campus, the Land O’ Lakes campus is one of six the College has in Florida.
“Having been with the College for almost 3 years, I can honestly say I love it. I love the people, the mission of the College–which aligns with my personal beliefs–and its community-oriented and philanthropic roots,” Stern says.
Where is the Land O’ Lakes/East Pasco campus located?
As the hub of this growing community, the campus is conveniently located in a beautiful new building right across from Publix Supermarket and Sun Lake High School on Fernview Street. With multiple acres of land, there is ample free parking available for students, faculty, staff and visitors on site.
Centrally located and near Tampa, the Land O’ Lakes community is booming. With all new restaurants, the largest outlet mall in Florida and large national employers calling this community home, there are endless opportunities to make connections and enjoy your time in the area.
What programs are offered at the Land O’ Lakes/East Pasco campus?
The Land O’ Lakes/East Pasco campus offers the following on-campus programs in the School of Health Sciences and the School of Nursing:

- Radiologic Technology: The Radiologic Technology Associate’s degree program at the Land O’ Lakes/East Pasco campus in Florida is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).1
- Physical Therapist Assistant Associate’s (PTA): The Physical Therapist Assistant program at the Land O’ Lakes/East Pasco campus is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).2
- Medical Assisting Diploma
School of Nursing
- Practical Nursing (LPN): the Practical Nursing Diploma program in Land O’ Lakes/East Pasco is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).3
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN): The Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).4
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN): The Master of Science in Nursing degree program at Rasmussen College is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).4
Students can also enroll in any of Rasmussen College’s more than 30 online programs through the Land O’ Lakes/East Pasco campus and have access to on-campus support. Programs are taught by qualified professionals across seven schools of study including Business, Design, Education, Health Sciences, Justice Studies, Nursing and Technology.

“The students love the people at the campus. We are surrounded by wonderful faculty and staff,” Stern says.
Students have access to a resource center, study spaces and tutors on campus. In addition, advisors are available to help answer any specific questions and guide you on your educational journey. They can help you with course scheduling, financial aid and learning support.
In addition to on-campus, in-person resources, students also have real-time access to everything they need, from academics to financial aid. The online Student Portal is the gateway to a variety of self-service tools, from course materials, grades, account balance, financial aid and library resources to career help and even 24/7 tech help.
